The Snarky Leaf, the app and this website, should be easy and fun for everyone to use. It isn't perfect yet, but here's what's been done so far and what's still being worked on.
In the app
- Buttons and controls have labels for screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack).
- A dark mode, and an automatic mode that follows the sun or your phone.
- Moving extras, like falling leaves and snow, turn off when your phone is set to reduce motion.
- Important things aren't shown by colour alone. They also have words, ticks or shapes.
- Sounds can be turned off in Settings.
- Buttons are large and easy to tap.
Still being worked on
- Some small text, especially in dark mode, is lighter than it should be.
- Picking flowers and some mini games rely on timing and quick taps, and may be hard to play with a screen reader.
- The app's text doesn't yet grow with your phone's largest text sizes everywhere.
